Overview
Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) is a performance-based test that measures actual competency on live systems. RHCT is the first step in establishing Linux credentials and is an ideal certification for those transitioning from non-UNIX/Linux environments.
The RHCT Exam
The RHCT certification exam consists of two parts conducted in a half-day session. The exam is performance-based, meaning that candidates must perform tasks on a live system, rather than answering multiple choice questions. The two parts of the RHCT exam are:
* Section I: Troubleshooting and System Maintenance (1 hour)
* Section II: Installation and Configuration (2 hours)
The exam costs around 390 EUR and it may be less or high in some places.
